Never been to the East Coast? Then you're in for a treat. Our managing director, who was born and raised in Cape Breton can tell you from experience that all good parties end up in the kitchen. They don't always start there, but as people get all fired up, they will always migrate to the kitchen. Even the smallest of kitchens will get jammed with bodies propped up on counters, leaning against the oven doors, or just lingering in the doorway. Usually someone brings out a guitar, someone grabs some spoons, maybe someone tries to dance. It's as sloppy as it is beautiful.
This February, Newborn Theatre and Aim for the Tangent Theatre are bringing the kitchen to you to raise funds for our upcoming production of Kyle Capstick's shit song for some island. Starting at 8pm on February 23rd, there will be music and laughter all night long at the Monarch Tavern (12 Clinton Street).
